The KCDS Performance Company is reserved for exceptionally talented dancers. Members proudly represent the school in local festivals and competitions with the aim of qualifying for All England Dance Finals. Members are also given as many performance, workshop and audition opportunities as possible.
Members need to train in a diverse range of dance styles, achieve good exam results, show exceptional aptitude, technique, skill, performance and commitment.
Students must also commit to intensive weekly training on a Wednesday, additional private lessons as well as hours of rehearsals and practise to compete at these high levels.
Competitions take place over weekends and in school holidays.
If you are interested in joining the KCDS Performance Company or have any questions please do contact the office to discuss.
There are lots of exciting opportunities for our pupils to perform - at local fairs, competitions and biennial shows. It is an important component of what we offer and as well as being great fun it builds confidence and creates wonderful memories for students and families to share and look back on for years to come.
Parents are also invited to watch their child’s class three times a year (at the end of the Autumn, Spring and Summer term) and there is a short performance at the end of all our holiday workshops and summer schools.
KCDS past performances include Disneyland Paris, The O2, Theatre Royal Drury Lane and Her Majesty's plus Warlingham Fair and many School Fetes, Harvest Festivals and Charity Events.
Our pupils have successfully auditioned and performed with the English Youth Ballet, National Youth Theatre and London Children's Ballet and won roles in The Lion King (both for the UK Tour and in London's West End), School of Rock, Tina the Musical and performed in pantomime at Croydon's Fairfield Halls.
