Do you want to know more about our brand new Professional Extension Programme which starts in January!
Having had a very successful start to our Ballet Development Programme we are pleased to announce our brand new Professional Extension Programme.
This will continue in the same vein as its predecessor and give students time to work on their strength and control but also musicality and performance in their classical work.
Offering dancers the chance to enhance their training, work with some of the best choreographers and teachers in the industry AND perform at amazing events.
And additionally we are excited to announce that Justine Murray will be joining the Programme.
Justine has been a Jazz and Contemporary faculty member in the leading vocational colleges for 25 years, these include Laine Theatre Arts, Performers College, The Centre for Performing Arts and Bird College, as Head of the Jazz Department.
As a guest teacher, choreographer and adjudicator, she has also worked for The Royal Academy of Dance, Tring Park, The Hammond School and Merseyside Dance Centre.
Alongside her vocational level teaching and choreographic work, Justine continues to lecture in the UK and internationally for teachers, being one of the original creative team for the current Children’s Modern Theatre syllabus.
Justine will be working on a range of Jazz and Contemporary styles and also be creating dances for performances - which means that when we can travel again, we will be organising trips to London and abroad to give the students opportunities to perform!
So what are we looking for?
We are on the look out for resilient and committed students who wish to join our Professional Extension Programme!
Designed to run alongside your normal weekly classes, to enhance training in Jazz Tech, Contemporary, Ballet, Commercial, Musical Theatre, Body Conditioning and Stretch, anyone wishing to take part needs to already be practicing, Ballet, Modern or Jazz and Tap.
Being part of this program gives our dancers the opportunity to perform and work with different choreographers, boost their technical knowledge and develop performance quality and confidence. Children on this programme can be selected to work with the Royal Ballet, perform at show in London or even travel to perform - to Disney Land and more!
What does this involve?
The programme will take place across ten Sundays throughout the year, for anyone aged eight and above and classes will alternate in theme to develop your versatility in dance.
There is no audition for this class - because I genuinely believe it should be available to all - all we ask is that you put in the hard work and come ready to learn.
In the past students have gone on to represent the school at The RAD Awards, Royal Ballet School, English Youth Ballet, various festivals and competitions, performances in the London’s West End and at the O2.
Spaces for this class are limited, so if you want to sign up - do it now!
